About

Hi, I'm Jill. My true desire is for you to know how deeply you are loved by God. You are the beloved! At Space to Sojourn, you can expect a companionship of listening and attuning to the movements of the Holy Spirit in your life and the world around you. As a Christ-centered Spiritual Director, I'll be listening to how Jesus reveals himself to you – all with joy and gratitude that we get to do this work together. Whether in a video call or an in-person gathering at our home on the bayou, don't be surprised at how often you hear me say, "WOW!" as I watch the unfolding of your inner life with God.

My education, background, and experiences add to this profession and help accompany others in their life with Christ. My education includes a BS in Applied Management from Grand Canyon University, 2-year training through Sustainable Faith School of Spiritual Direction, and a certification in Godly Play. I am a member of the Christ-centered Spiritual Direction Association (CSDA) and a member of the Godly Play Foundation. My background includes health & fitness, military life, early childhood development, small business ownership, and Bible study and group leading. My marriage is a source of joy in our empty-nest life and our 3 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, and 2 grandsons bring great delight and laughter.

Statement of Faith

A Christian spiritual director is a trained listener who accompanies you as you share about your spiritual journey. Hospitable, confidential, and grounded in biblical truth, spiritual direction is a ministry that helps you grow into your calling as a follower of Christ.

What to expect

A Christ-centered companionship where we listen to God's invitations and discern God's guidance through quiet moments and prayer. My hope is that you will leave with a new awareness of God's presence in your life.

  • Every meeting is confidential, and as a spiritual director, I guide the dialogue through attentive listening and thoughtful questions.
  • Our time may begin with Scripture, silence, or prayer that moves you to talk about what is preoccupying your thoughts, feelings or driving your actions.
  • Meetings can be in person, over the phone or via video.
  • A session lasts for about an hour and takes place once a month.
  • I offer an hourly rate with a sliding scale and a military discount. Please contact me for your specific rate.

Retreat Types

Night of the Beloved

A time for men and women to gather in community to worship and spend time with God. Expect the evening to flow between scripture and worship in a 2-hour time frame. Cost is $20.

Morning with Mary

Men and women come to linger: in solitude, scripture, worship and other spiritual practices. This includes a light breakfast as well. Cost is $35.

The Wedding Feast

A full day retreat lasting 6-8 hours, to include 2 meals. A theme and any prep work or readings will be sent ahead of time. Cost is $75.

Soul Care Gatherings

The intentionality of setting aside time to care for your soul can get crowded in an already busy schedule. Come and experience the peace and rest that God promises. Created specifically for your group, these gatherings give space for care of body, mind, and spirit. Group time typically lasts between 1-2 hours, and fees are determined at the time of scheduling. These groups are not made public unless one is created by Space to Sojourn Ministries for open attendees. Other gatherings are also listed under Spiritual Formation.

Intentionally position yourself to spend time with God. Solidify your faith within practices that ground you in secure attachment with God. You CAN learn to walk with Jesus and look more like Him in your everyday life. Become secure in God's love with guidance through:

  • A life-story curriculum called My Life Expedition
  • Time in prayer
  • Spiritual Formation: discernment prayer, questions to guide your decisions, prayer practices
  • Group gatherings

My Life Expedition

Receive guidance for 10-12 weeks through My Life Expedition as a reflective work done one-on-one or with a small group of 2-3 others. It is a good choice for those sensing a calling, transition, relocation, or upcoming retirement/career change.

  • Discover your life/season purpose
  • Notice God's fingerprints on your life story
  • Expose the obstacles and core lies that need to be removed from your path
  • Learn how God speaks to us through our God-given longings
  • Write your mission statement
  • Discover/confirm vocations
  • Create a rule of life

Journey through the My Life Expedition (MLE) curriculum as an individual or in a small group. We can meet in person or over video, with an informational session at no charge. Once you decide, we'll journey together for 11 weeks. Contact me for individual or group pricing.

Group Gatherings

It is our joy to share God's resources of a peaceful setting in a retreat home on the bay. Gather in community with prayer, book reading, Bible study, or an outdoor exploration of play and wonder. If you notice a growing desire for a particular gathering, we can collaborate to create a new group.
